Powerful Thought

This was sent to me in an email and I thought it was too good to not share it with the readers of my blog. I hope that you enjoy it. I do not have the pictures that were included with the email but the presidents that were asked started with our current president and went all the way back to George Washington.

Truly one of the best e-mails I've seen.A mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die in Iraq?A mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die in Saudi Arabia?
A mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die in Kuwait?Another mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die inVietnam?Another mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die in Korea?Another mother asked this President...?'Why did my son have to die onIwo Jima?Another mother asked President...?'Why did my son have to die on a battlefield in France?Yet another mother asked President...?'Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg? And yet another mother asked President...?Why did my son have to die on a frozen field
near Valley Forge??'†††Then long, long ago, a mother asked...'Heavenly Father...
why did my Son have to die on a cross
outside of Jerusalem?†††The answer is always the same...
'So that others may live and dwell
in peace, happiness, and freedom.'AMEN
†††

This was emailed to me with no author.
I thought the magnitude
and the simplicity were awesome. If you are not willing
to stand BEHIND our troops,Please,
please feel free
to stand in front of them....

Mike this is probably one of your best blogs ever. it really gave me an opportunity to pause and reflect on the many brave men and women who have given their lives so that we could continue to enjoy the blessings of freedom. John 15:13 says that greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. I believe that no matter what our political leanings are we all owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has served this country, past and present, for their willingness to give of themselves to keep our nation great. Of course, as you said, it all comes down to the greatest role model of love and self-sacrifice, our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not have to be in the armed services to follow His example and give of ourselves to others in compassion and love. It's the least we can do.

I hate war, it usually makes no sense. And the wars of fanatics make no sense at all, which is why we are now fighting in mid east. If we don`t fight our nation is lost, sad to say. But we have to bring this war to an end soon. I`m thinking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
